This is what a typical breakfast looks like for me these days. 2016 is all about healthy eating! What have you decided to change or improve in the New Year?
Instead of cooking your oats with water or 2 % milk, try Almond or Coconut milk! Both have an amazing taste and are easy to find at your local grocery store for a good price. I buy Friendly Farm’s All Natural Sweetened Almond Milk (this brand is sold at Aldi’s) or Simple Truth’s Coconut milk from Kroger. The steel-cut oats also came from Aldi. If you are eating this before work or school, be sure to give yourself enough time because the oats take about 25-30 minutes to cook properly. Feel free to load up on berries or try bananas! A slice of toast with Almond Butter is also a good option. This breakfast provides a great jump start for the day and will give you a full and satisfied feeling for several hours.
