Pretty Girl, the debut album of actress/singer/songwriter Rhyon Nicole Brown// Brown is undeniably talented both onscreen and off (she has several directing credits to her name) and I was excited to see her venture into music. Pretty Girl is filled with honest lyrics about the power of self-acceptance and healing. The music is a blend of R&B with a pop sensibility. I also like the accompanying short film as it provides a deeper look at who Rhyon is as an artist. The project leaves me feeling inspired and I’ve been listening all month long! Check it out here.

Backwards and in Heels: The Past, Present, and Future of Women Working in Film by Alicia Malone// I have long admired Malone and followed her on YouTube for quite some time now. She’s an Aussie film reporter and critic who is incredibly knowledgable about the topic of women in film. If you’re a movie lover looking for a good read I suggest you check it out! Backwards & in Heels is available for purchase here.
