Happy Valentine’s Day!

While Valentine's Day is probably the most commercialized "holiday" in the world you have to admit it's still a lot of fun. If you're planning a night in this Valentine's Day check out 8 movie suggestions from me that are perfect for the season!

La La Land

La La Land is officially a Golden Globe award-wining film. Directed by Damien Chazelle (Whiplash), La La Land stars Emma Stone as an aspiring actress and Ryan Gosling as a jazz musician. In this modern-day musical, love and music go hand in hand. This film is a love letter to all of the creatives and to all of the dreamers.

Fences

Fences is set in 1957 and follows Troy Maxson (Denzel Washington), a garbage collector struggling to connect with his wife (Viola Davis), sons (Russell Hornsby, Jovan Adepo), and brother (Mykelti Williamson). The film is based on the Tony Award-winning play of the same name by famed playwright August Wilson. The film, like the play, examines many weighty themes, primarily the African-American experience as it were during the Civil Rights era.

Hidden Figures

Hidden Figures tells the little known story of Katherine Johnson, Dorothy Vaughn and Mary Jackson-brilliant mathematicians who worked for NASA during the Space Race against the Soviet Union in the fifties and sixties.
